Starkville PD reports the bomb threat at Walmart is cleared. According to reports at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified of a potential bomb threat at the Starkville Walmart Supercenter. An employee called in the threat after a customer turned in a note found in a bathroom. Starkville PD arrived promptly on the scene and evacuated the Walmart as well as surrounding buildings while they searched the building, parking lot and any remaining vehicles. Hwy 12 towards Walmart was closed off about a half mile from the store, and MSU Parking & Transit Services reported all bus routes were unable to serve the location until police reopened the area. Starkville PD reported they do not believe the threat was serious, but took all necessary precautions upon being notified of the threat. The incident remains under active investigation.
