The ninth annual Bulldog Bash is scheduled to kick off the Southeastern Conference football season on Friday, Sept. 12. Matt Wertz will open for event headliner Gavin DeGraw. DeGraw released his newest self-titled album in May. The album charted at No. 7 on the Billboard's Top 200 list.
Other performers include Atlanta R&B group Whild Peach, country artist Jonathan Singleton, who co- wrote "Watching Airplanes" with Gary Allen, local bluegrass band Nash Street, reggae artist Exodus and former Drive-By Truckers member Jason Isbell.

The MSU Board Search Committee will make decisions this week that will help the university take one step closer to naming its 19th president. IHL director of media relations Annie Mitchell said the Search Advisory Committee will meet on Aug. 28 to submit no less than five names of presidential applicants and nominees to the MSU Board Search Committee for possible interviews. Main freshmen concerns about college include finding roommates, declaring a major and figuring out whom to hang out with for the next four years. Essentially these concerns boil down to one question: Where do I get plugged in at this university? The MSU Department of Housing and Residence Life seeks to help answer that question with the new university mandate requiring freshmen to live on campus. (2) comments
