Food drive gives back to local community
Golden Triangle residents to receive non-perishable donations

The Committee of 19, a group comprised of Mississippi State University students, is holding a food drive which began Monday and will last through Thursday. Food collected during the event will go to Golden Triangle families in need. Preferred donations include canned goods, bags of rice and other foods high in protein. (1) comment

As rising gas prices continue to pump money out of consumers' pockets nationwide, researchers at Mississippi State University are discovering new ways to increase the longevity of nonrenewable resources. Biological sciences research professor Lewis Brown has dedicated more than 40 years of his life to studying microorganisms and their connection to the petroleum industry. (1) comment

Gordon to declare for NBA draft
Junior point guard wants to take game 'to another level' sans agent

Mississippi State point guard Jamont Gordon has decided to declare for the NBA draft, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. Gordon told the news agency he filed the paperwork Tuesday afternoon. The news comes on the heels of graduating senior Charles Rhodes and sophomore Ben Hansbrough both leaving the team. (0) comments
