Taggart discussed Miss. elections, politics in Union

Political activist and author Andy Taggart spoke to students and faculty Wednesday about the upcoming state elections. Taggart, a lawyer in Madison, served as chief of staff to former Gov. Kirk Fordice from 1991 to 1994. In 1984, he served as the executive director of the Mississippi Republican Party and was its political director in 1980 and 1981. (1) comment

One MSU organization focuses on physical, mental unity

Sitting completely still for an extended amount of time is almost a taboo in a society where forward motion seems to be the only constant, but some MSU students are learning how to take time out to do just that. "Yoga, if you take it literally, is a Sanskrit word which means union, and the ultimate reason to do yoga is to join the body and the mind," said Aneva McMinn, who teaches hatha yoga in the Sanderson Center.
