Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour's office, the Legislature, the state Department of Education and the Dropout Prevention Task Force are working together to implement a new plan to decrease the state's number of high school dropouts. According to the 2000 census, Mississippi ranks 47th in the rate of high school dropouts and was 50th for American College Test (ACT) scores. (0) comments

The MSU Thad Cochran Endowment for Entrepreneurship has approved a grant for the development of a new research company for MSU employees. MSU animal and science faculty members Scott Willard and Anna Chromiak used the grant to develop Remote Animal Monitoring Solution LLC. (0) comments

MSU's Indian Student Association hosted Maroon Vibes II on Saturday, a cultural event that brought students from several backgrounds together to explore Indian culture through a dinner, competitions and a DJ party. A dinner of authentic Indian cuisine was served on the Drill Field, followed by intercollegiate competitions in the Lee Hall Auditorium. (0) comments
