I think both of you are missing the point. Before any solution is reached, you need to establish some common ground on the question, "Is it wrong for a person to steal if he or she is in great need?"

My opinion is that it is wrong, but the need and motive of the crime should be considered in the punishment. Obviously, many illegal immigrants have a great need. Maybe cutting off public assistance is too strict a punishment. Maybe full amnesty is too light a punishment.

Your various arguments on this or that are pointless until you come to an agreement on the above question.

Illegal Aliens and Immigration is NOT the same thing. Immigrant is a legal status granted by a sovereign country. 1. There are 1 billion Chinese who are also in need, most much poorer than Mexicans who have the world's 14th largest economy.

2. There is a whole continent populated by Africans who are much, much,much poorer than even the Chinese and would would love to come to the USA and make a better life for themselves and families, and they are for the most part educated.

There are only two choices. Obey the rule of law and jail/deport and remain a first world country or ignore it and descend into third world status, with a government riddled by corruption, endemic crime and no economuy to speak of. All first world countries follw the rule of law. Almost all the third world basket cases like Mexico, do not.

Not only do the pro illegal aliens want to abolish the rule of law, but they also want to slash and burn the US Constitution.

Any amnesty/pathway/visa is racist.

The illegal supporters themselves say between 80-90 percent are Hispanic.

American immigration law provides quotas to all countries so all Americans have an equal chance to bring in family and race.

Any amnesty or guest worker program or visa would give a huge PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT to Hispanics over all other Americans, in both number of people allowed in, and timing of their arrival.

Our Constitution provides an anti discrimination clause and an equal opportunity clause which any preferntial amnesty/pathway/visa violates.

Bush opened the southern border for North American Union purposes, thereby giving preference in ability to come in illegally to the USA Hispanics, especially Mexicans. All political parties want amnesty so they can be the champion of the new post integration enlarged voting block. No other race is given the opportunity to increase their voting block through illegal immigration.

Given the extraordinary highly percentage of Hispanic illegals, it is clear that other races and ethnic groups have not had the same opportunity to come in illegally and thereby get amensty.

Are we going to remain a country of laws?

Are we going to treat all Americans equally, or give preference to Hispanics?


And sorry, the illegal aliens are costing taxpayers a bundle. The estimate for California (after all the benefit illegals add has been factored in, including those few who do pay taxes) is 10.4 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR IN SUBSIDIES TO ILLEGALS.

Illegals have banrupted hospitals in CA. They arrive, no medical insurance, and get free treatemt. Mexicans are even coming across the border just for medical treatement. The walk away and leave the bill on the table.

How about all those articles about the poor family where one parent only is an illegal? Boo hoo hoo. What they never explain is why 10 years down the line, they haven't bothered to make the illegal spouce legal. That's easy. If one spouce is illegal, s/he is under the radar, can work under the table and avoid paying taxes....and probably engage in ID theft and apply for all sorts of freebees.

Did you know that 97% of cost of having and raising illegal alien kids is paid for by the USA taxpayer?

The author of this article probably does not realize that legal immigrants, not only have to have background checks, pass a medical (my son caught TB at school from an illegal alien kid), pass as US History test, have good character, and GUARANTEE they will not be asking for moneteary assistance from the governement for at least 5 years. By the way, according to the polls about 1/2 of the Hispanic Americans are against illegal immigration and pro deportation. They also can be scathing, and educational, about how many of the illegal aliens are are ripping off our system. Most illegals have at least 3 if not more identities which they use for various purposes to maximize their take.

Now about business. How come business never asks for those law abiding legal immigrants from all over the world who are waiting in line to come in? Because they would have to pay them regular wagaes and follow labor laws, and because these immigrants are not subsidized by the government, they are more expensive to hire. Nope, dishonest business wants its cheap taxpayer subsdiized labor that it can work like slaves, igorning labor laws as it pleases.

Then why would dishonest business want amnesty? Because each amnesty means more illegals will arrive. The first amnesty there were 3 million illegals. Now they say there are 12 million, but it's probably closer to 30 million according to some estimates. Funny, during the debate for th 1986 amnesty which Americans were hotly against, your ordinary Joe Blow citizen got it right: if you give amnesty you just encourage greater illegal immigration.

But it is actually more complicated than that.

Do you realize of all Mexicans entitled to become Americans , only 13% do so? Obviously they are not here to integrate or to join our society. In fact there is an organized Latino movement to resist all forms of assimilation.

So what is going on? Integration with Mexico and the dissolution of the USA as we know it.

Read David Brooks of the NYT article in December 2007 furious because as he put it " the elite" had a bipartisan agreement for free trade and Nafta that was raking in the money and Lou Dobbs screwed it up. McCain's Hispanic Outreach person was a Cabinet member in Mexico's Vicente Fox's government and is openly for reconquest of Southwest USA. Some of his comments.

Mexican President Calderon came talk to the troops last week. He said quite clearly that Americans should accept integration because it was going to occur.

This figure has been consistent on the independent polls for at least 6 months.

There are big bucks in play here, and business wants Mexican and American integration, free trade and they play dirty.

Before the vote on the Bush amnesty bill, most of the print media was touting a poll that they said stated a majority of Americans wanted amnesty. I checked the poll. It said the opposite. Only 24% of Americans supported it.

The false report was published time and time again for months. The Rasumussen independent poll at the same time found only 26% supported the bill, but it was never mentioned.

Now I always check the actual polls and see what they say.

We are in the fight of our lives for our language, culture, and nation. The other side has all the power and money and they are fighting for the "elite" to gain even greater control of a joint Mexican /American economy. All we have is the internet and our vote. And with Diebold, I am not even sure of the vote.

We have to put a stop to this.

If we lose, all there will be left to do is ask the last person in the country we once called America to lower the flag one last time.

There are many, many dimensions to the illegal alien phenomenon and how it affects our country. I will just give the example of how we've become a lawless country, and point out that no democratic society can exist without both the consent of the governed and the rule of law. On the issue of illegal aliens, our government ignores both the consent of the people and the rule of law. In the broader society we see a growing distain for the rule of law.

We have the President flagrantly violating the law and failing to honor his oath of office, and a Congress, the only entity with the power to do anything about it, standing idly by and doing nothing. We have a Congress that sells its office for campaign contributions and calls it access to members of congress. We have a Supreme Court whose only job is to enforce the Constitution and the rule of law, and who instead uses the most tortured logic imaginable to substitute the desires of as few as four of its member for what is clearly stated in the Constitution; nothing shows this more clearly than how the court has made corporations into people with the same rights as you and I.

In the public arena, we have clergymen who abuse our children and steal their flocks' money, and a church hierarchy that instead of calling the police facilitates their crimes. Is it any wonder that we have government officials of both political parties, church leaders from many denominations, union leaders, and civic leaders of every strip calling for amnesty for untold millions of illegal aliens who routinely break any law that stands in the way of them getting whatever it is they want.
